Mondi Group has announced plans for the permanent closure of the Lohja specialty kraft paper mill in Finland.
According to Mondi, employee representatives were informed of the plans on 9 April. Mondi cites the site’s prolonged poor financial performance as the reason for the planned shut-down. The closure will affect a total of 170 people.
At the Lohja mill near Helsinki Mondi produces coated and uncoated machine-glazed specialty kraft papers for the release liner markets and for the medical, food service and food packaging industry.
