Mondi upgrades German corrugated packaging plants
Mondi is strengthening its corrugated solutions operations in Germany through a series of targeted investments and operational improvements at its facilities in Greven, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Ebersdorf, Bavaria. The upgrades are designed to enhance manufacturing efficiency, improve product quality, reinforce health and safety standards and support long-term competitiveness across both sites.
At the two plants, Mondi has implemented a range of production-related improvements, including upgrades to existing equipment and optimisation of internal processes aimed at increasing operational performance and reliability.
At the Ebersdorf facility, the company continues to expand pallet-free production processes, a development that reduces handling requirements, improves product consistency and supports more resource-efficient operations. Meanwhile, increased automation at the Greven plant is helping stabilise production processes, reduce waste and further improve product quality.
Mondi has also established a dedicated on-site sales team at the Greven facility, enabling closer collaboration with customers, faster response times and the development of more tailored packaging solutions.
Health and safety remains a central focus of the programme. According to the company, both plants have been aligned with Mondi’s global safety standards through workplace improvements and dedicated employee training initiatives designed to further enhance operational reliability and employee wellbeing.

The investments follow Mondi’s acquisition of the Western European assets of Schumacher Packaging, which expanded the company’s corrugated packaging presence in Germany. Since the acquisition, Mondi has been integrating its operational excellence approach and global health and safety standards across the acquired facilities.
The company stated that these latest upgrades further improve performance, consistency and reliability while helping unlock additional long-term growth opportunities within its German corrugated packaging network.
