Torraspapel joins 4evergreen to advance circularity
Torraspapel has joined the 4evergreen alliance, reinforcing its commitment to helping shape a more circular future for fibre-based packaging in Europe. Led by Cepi, the Confederation of European Paper Industries, 4evergreen brings together more than 110 organisations across the fibre-based packaging value chain, including pulp and paper producers, brand owners, recyclers and material suppliers. The alliance shares the goal of achieving a 90% recycling rate for fibre-based packaging in Europe by 2030.
As a manufacturer of specialty papers for packaging, labelling, food service and other demanding applications, Torraspapel contributes its technical expertise and market experience to the cross-industry initiative. Its participation supports the development of practical tools, including the Recyclability Evaluation Protocol and the Circularity by Design Guidelines.
These resources are intended to help translate regulatory developments, such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), into criteria that can be applied by the industry.
Technical collaboration across the value chain

Through its involvement in 4evergreen working groups and technical forums, Torraspapel contributes to discussions on common industry challenges while gaining insights from other participants throughout the value chain.
According to the company, combining different areas of expertise provides a stronger basis for developing practical approaches and identifying new opportunities for paper-based packaging. Torraspapel views its participation in the alliance as a way to turn shared expertise into concrete progress for fibre-based packaging.
