Ahlstrom receives CDP A-list recognition for supplier engagement

Ahlstrom has once again achieved the highest possible A rating in the 2025 CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment, marking the second consecutive year the company has received the top score for its climate-related supplier engagement activities. The assessment, conducted by CDP, evaluates how effectively companies work with suppliers on climate action and emissions reduction throughout the value chain.
The evaluation covers several areas, including governance and business strategy, climate targets, Scope 3 emissions management, risk management practices and supplier engagement initiatives.
According to CDP, supplier collaboration plays a critical role in accelerating the transition toward a low-carbon economy, particularly because emissions generated throughout supply chains often represent a significant portion of a company’s total environmental impact.
Ahlstrom stated that supplier cooperation remains a central element of its sustainability strategy. The company requires suppliers to commit to its Code of Conduct or demonstrate equivalent standards, while partnerships are developed with a focus on continuous improvement and long-term value creation.
“Maintaining an A score for a second consecutive year demonstrates Ahlstrom’s sustained commitment to advancing climate action across its value chain together with its suppliers. Working with suppliers is built on strong partnerships and a shared commitment to progress. In practice, this means integrating ESG considerations into our daily collaboration. By doing so, we improve transparency, drive continuous improvement, and create long-term value for both Ahlstrom and our suppliers,” said Bernard Arrateig, Supplier & Responsible Procurement Manager at Ahlstrom.
The company also highlighted broader progress in external sustainability evaluations. Earlier in 2025, Ahlstrom received an A leadership score in the CDP Climate Disclosure assessment for the second consecutive year and maintained its EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing the company among the top one percent of organisations assessed globally. These achievements are supported by both near-term and long-term climate targets aligned with the 1.5°C pathway, as well as net-zero goals validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2024.
