After assigning a new stock preparation system to ST Macchine by Cartiera San Martino (Broccostella-Frosinone), SAEL has been choosing as sub-contractor for the DCS control management job. ST Macchine pointed out SAEL as strategic electrical system partner because of its strong knowledge in terms of automation and drives manufacturing, achieved over the years of works for many prestigious paper groups.
Nevertheless, due to a previous job made in the 1999, and still running, SAEL was already known and appreciated by the paper mill organization. On November 2019, thanks to the own REEBORN KIT Technology, SAEL renewed its original sectional drive reusing the many parts of the cabinets and power units built on 1999. The original drives were renewed with few updates, in three days only. In spite of the Covid-19 tough time, the whole scheduling is on progress and got a couple ow weeks delayed only. The INTELLIFLEX PLATFORM ONE perfectly fits with the expandable Scalink DCS platform, even further.
ST Macchine supplied the stock preparation screening equipment as well as the entire approach flow, primary and secondary screens & tertiary vibrating screen, Fan Pump, Valves and Sensors. SAEL supplied all the MCC, the automation system performed by S7 1500 PLC Siemens, the DCS by Scalink, on-board wirings and so on.
Thanks to the new DCS by Scalink, having two 22 inches screens in two different engineering stations, with integrated redundancy system, SAEL allowed the paper mill to control the two machines and their production duty cycle on a proper way. Moreover, to give a new dynamic prospective to the operators, from the paper formation to the Pope Reel, a new control desk was supplied. This modular system will allow further DCS Scalink implementations on existing PLC in the paper mill process, such as the remaining Stock preparation, the Vacuum pumps, the Steam, QCS, Drives, etc. This is the successful solution: gathering all in one system performing at the best.
