Papiergarda assigns to SAEL the automation and drive rebuilding of the sheeter

Papiergarda assigned again to SAEL the electrical main drive rebuilding of the Pizzolato sheeter, three years after the rebuilding of the Jagenberg Synchro 350-2150 DD2. Besides the mandatory upgrade to the machine safety compliance, once again, the issue was the unavailability of the obsolete electrical components. This revamping will be applied soon, and will provide great new diagnostic tools, featuring video and files for the machine operators. Based on the philosophy of SAEL, the Software of the project will be “open source”.
To a more flexible and intuitive machine drive, another important step of this project will involve the automation. This method will allow further implementations whenever required. The highlights of this project, are:
- Replacement of the obsolete black box automation system with brand new PLC-HW-Drive-Transducers
- Machine management via FAIL SAFE 1500 S7 PLC, and integration of the technological functions originally managed by the BLACK BOX.
- Remote I/O Fail Safe implementation for the safety machine update.
- Replacement of the supervisor system using the latest version of Touch-screen Siemens operator panels vs. the old architecture based on a dedicated local PC.
- Integration with the entire network, fulfilling the Industry 4.0 rules.
- Supply of SAEL Inverters, to control the AC motors of the Sheeter.

SAEL drive are very performing for the blade motor of the sheeter: inside the regulation card the algorithm of the peripherical speed control is resident, with simple parameters setup is possible tuning every type of sheeters existing on the market. Furthermore, the system is linked to the central management unit used to plan and set the production; the target is the productivity increase by reducing waste of time and scraps
