International packaging and paper group Mondi has unveiled plans to expand its production facility in Mielec, in southern Poland. The group aims to invest PLN 42.6 million (US$11.5 million) to expand the factory and create 26 new jobs.

Under the plan, the investment is to be completed by the end of June 2016. The plant in Mielec makes a wide range of paper bags which are supplied to companies active in the cement, feed and food industries.

Mondi says it employs about 25,000 across more than 30 countries. The group’s key operations are located in central Europe, Russia, North America and South Africa, according to data released by the firm.
