U.S. containerboard production decreased 1% in March

The American Forest & Paper Association released its March 2016 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report which said containerboard production was 1.1 percent lower compared to March 2015. The month-over-month average daily production compared to February 2016 was 2.6 percent lower.

The containerboard operating rate for March decreased to 94.4 percent and the year-to-date operating rate of 94.9 percent was 0.6 percentage points lower compared to the same period in 2015.
