Negotiations conclude at Stora Enso Kvarnsveden paper mill

Stora Enso announced its plans to permanently close down one paper machine 8 (PM8) in February, and the closure of PM8 occurred in June. The impact of the reorganization and PM8 closure was mitigated through individual solutions, such as early retirement, says the company.
Altogether, 122 people were affected.
Stora Enso says it “is convinced that through the measures taken, it is possible to improve the competitiveness of the Kvarnsveden mill going forward.” Production at the Swedish mill will continue on two lines: PM10 for improved newsprint paper and PM12 for SC papers.
