Georgia-Pacific to install new boiler at Green Bay
The new Boiler will reduce sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions by 80 percent. In a bid to promote sustainability, Georgia-Pacific will install a new natural gas boiler at its Broadway mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The new boiler will replace the mill’s coal-fired boiler and enable Georgia-Pacific to reduce emissions and meet future regulations. The natural gas boiler is expected to start operations in mid-2015 and will reduce the emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide by 80 percent. Georgia-Pacific employs approximately 2,200 staff members at the Green Bay facility.
The mill manufactures commercial and retail brands of paper products comprising bath tissue, napkins and towels.
