Dunapack Packaging builds new factory near Bucharest
Dunapack Rambox, the local subsidiary of Dunapack Packaging Division, part of the Austrian group Prinzhorn, has signed an agreement to acquire an 11.5-hectare plot for building a greenfield corrugated packaging plant in Bolintin, near Bucharest.
Dunapack also owns a factory in Sfantu Gheorghe, Covasna county, in the center of Romania. The new plant will cover 22,000 sqm. It will operate in addition to the Sfantu Gheorghe factory. The two factories will reach a total annual production capacity of 300 million sqm.
The company didn’t want to mention how much it will invest in this project. It will hire 200 employees in its new plant in Bolintin.
Dunapack Rambox recorded a turnover of over EUR 28 million last year and a net profit of almost EUR 1.2 million. The company is the fourth largest company in the industry, based on its turnover in 2016, after Rondocarton, Vrancart and Romcarton.
