Valmet has completed change negotiations for temporary layoffs in the Packaging and Paper business area and Global Supply unit in Finland

Valmet concluded the change negotiations that began on November 10, 2025, regarding temporary layoffs within the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit, part of the Packaging and Paper business area, as well as within the Global Supply unit in Finland. The discussions were centered on the company’s plans to align capacity with market conditions and to further improve the cost efficiency of both the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and the Global Supply operations.

As an outcome of the negotiations, Valmet retained the option to implement temporary layoffs if considered necessary during the first half of 2026. The possible measures concern the personnel of the Packaging and Paper Machines business unit and the employees of the P&P Manufacturing unit’s machine workshop and foundry in Jyväskylä, both operating under the Global Supply unit.

In total, the negotiations covered more than 950 employees across all personnel groups in these units in Finland, with most individuals working in Jyväskylä, Tikkurila in Vantaa, and Raisio.

Valmet employs approximately 19,000 people globally, of whom about 6,000 are based in Finland.
