Stora Enso preannounces its third quarter 2015 sales and operational EBIT

Stora Enso‘s third quarter 2015 operational EBIT was approximately EUR 246 million which is higher than guided in conjunction with second quarter earnings. The third quarter 2015 actual sales at approximately EUR 2 500 million were similar to the guidance of EUR 2 562 million. The fourth quarter 2015 sales are estimated to be similar to the amount of the EUR 2 500 million and operational EBIT is expected to be in line with the EUR 246 million recorded in the third quarter 2015.

On 21 July 2015, Stora Enso guided that its third quarter sales were estimated to be similar to the amount of the EUR 2 562 million recorded in the second quarter of 2015. Moreover, based on the same guidance, operational EBIT would be in line with the EUR 207 million recorded in the second quarter of 2015.

The third quarter 2015 actual sales at approximately EUR 2 500 million were in line with guidance. However, operational EBIT at approximately EUR 246 million was higher than guidance in the second quarter of 2015. This was mainly due to better than expected performance in the Biomaterials division driven by depreciation of the Brazilian Real and better operational performance at the Nordic and Montes del Plata pulp mills.
