Sonoco Alcore responds to rapid growth in the Middle East with new location in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Sonoco Alcore formally announces its first manufacturing facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expanding its already growing tubes and cores business in the Middle East Region.

The new facility will consolidate Sonoco Alcore ́s leading position in the paper, film, man-made fibre yarn, metal and construction market. With the increased capacity Sonoco Alcore will be continuing to supply and innovate, high quality and value-creating solutions for their customers.

The new manufacturing site is a joint venture together with Tahweel Integrated Company. It has an annual production capacity of 20,000 tonnes in 2 state of the art production lines, covering 8,000 square meters with further expansion capability in cutting-edge equipment and 40 highly skilled manufacturing employees. Therefore, the new location will be an important milestone in the company’s mission to support their customers manufacturing the needs across the region.

The tube and core site is strategically located in Rabigh Plus Park and will be especially beneficial for customers and other producers in the film, paper, man-made fibre yarn and metal industries. Sonoco Alcore delivers 100% recycled products and can both customize and optimize when problem solving for manufacturers. A focus on sustainability has always been part of the company’s DNA and their network of industry paper mills can help to ensure the highest quality of paper supply and -security for their tubes.
