Smurfit Westrock to delist from the London Stock Exchange

Smurfit Westrock to delist from the London Stock Exchange

Smurfit Westrock has announced its intention to delist from the London Stock Exchange (LSE), a move that would leave the company solely listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The company stated that the decision follows a strategic review of its London listing, which was announced at the end of April 2026.

According to Smurfit Westrock, the evaluation considered several factors, including trading volumes on the LSE as well as the additional regulatory, administrative and financial costs associated with maintaining the dual listing structure. Following completion of the review, the company’s Board determined that proceeding with the delisting would be in the best interests of the business.

As part of the process, Smurfit Westrock will request the cancellation of its listing from the Official List maintained by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), as well as the removal of its ordinary shares from trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. Under UK listing regulations, the company is required to provide at least 20 business days’ notice before the delisting becomes effective.

According to the announced timetable, trading of Smurfit Westrock shares on the LSE is expected to end on 19 June 2026, with the formal delisting anticipated to take effect from 22 June 2026. Once the process is completed, the company’s shares will continue to trade exclusively on the New York Stock Exchange.

Smurfit Westrock was created through the combination of Smurfit Kappa and WestRock, forming one of the world’s largest paper-based packaging groups with operations across Europe and the Americas.
