Schumacher Packaging to hire 500 workers
Germany’s cardboard packaging maker Schumacher Packaging GmbH has unveiled plans to create about 500 new jobs at its recently-launched production facility in Greven, in the country’s western part.
Currently, the plant is operated by a workforce of 100, the company said in a statement. The plant was launched under an investment estimated to be worth some €45 million.
Production of cardboard packaging is carried out on a total floorspace of 30,000 sq. m., and Schumacher Packaging is aiming to further expand it to 100,000 sq. m., according to data released by the producer.
Schumacher Packaging says it is an owner-managed, Europe-wide packaging specialist for corrugated and solid cardboard board. The German firm is operated by a workforce of more than 2,500 employed at 13 European production facilities in Germany, Poland and the Netherlands.
