RDM Group to sell Arnsberg business to MM Board & Paper

RDM Group has signed an agreement to sell its Arnsberg business in Germany to MM Board & Paper through an asset sale transaction. The deal forms part of the Italian group’s strategy to optimise its business portfolio and focus resources on product categories and markets offering the strongest prospects for sustainable growth, innovation and long-term value creation.

The Arnsberg mill is a long-established producer of recycled cartonboard supplying customers across Europe. According to RDM Group, the transaction is intended to provide the business with a more stable platform for its future development while ensuring continuity for customers, employees and suppliers.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. RDM stated that the expected financial impact of the sale, including its effects on the Group’s liquidity and business, had already been incorporated into the projections underlying its business plan and remained consistent with the plan announced in July 2026.

“The transaction represents an important step in the execution of our strategy. The sale of the Arnsberg business supports our objective of optimizing the Group’s business plan and focusing our efforts on those product categories and markets where we see the strongest prospects for sustainable growth, innovation and value creation. We are confident that MM Board & Paper is the right industrial player to support the future development of the Arnsberg business and its employees,” said Michele Bianchi, Chief Executive Officer of RDM Group.

Closing expected in the fourth quarter

Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including the required regulatory approvals, and is currently expected during the fourth quarter of 2026. The sale represents another step in the implementation of RDM Group’s strategic plan. The company is one of Europe’s leading producers of recycled cartonboard and fibre-based packaging solutions, while MM Board & Paper is a major European producer of cartonboard and paper.
