Pixelle Specialty Solutions appoints Julie Schertell as new CEO

The Board of Directors of Pixelle Specialty Solutions LLC announced the appointment of Julie Schertell as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Ross Bushnell, who has stepped down to pursue new professional opportunities.
Schertell is a recognized leader in the specialty materials industry, known for driving transformational change, empowering employees, and strengthening customer relationships. With over 30 years of operational and commercial expertise, she has successfully built high-performing teams, implemented large-scale change initiatives, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Most recently, she served as President and CEO of Mativ Holdings (NYSE: MATV), a company formed through the merger of Schweitzer Mauduit International and Neenah Inc. Prior to that, she held the role of President and CEO at Neenah Inc.
In a statement, Pixelle expressed its gratitude to Bushnell: “The Board would like to thank Ross for his leadership during his tenure as CEO. He oversaw the successful sale of the Stevens Point, Wisconsin, mill and guided the company through the difficult decision to close the Chillicothe, Ohio, facility. Ross will remain with Pixelle through September as an advisor to the Board to ensure a smooth transition.”
Commenting on her new role, Schertell said: “Pixelle has a strong core business, with unique capabilities and a talented team. As we enter this new chapter, I am excited to lead the company forward by investing in our Spring Grove site and by strengthening customer relationships through innovation, supply chain programs, and exceptional products, service, and quality.”
Earlier in her career, Schertell held positions of increasing responsibility at Georgia-Pacific, including Vice President of Sales Strategy and Vice President of Customer Solutions within the Consumer Products Division. She earned a Master of Accountancy from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University.
