Lucart confirms its position as a World Champion of Sustainability earning EcoVadis Platinum Rating
Massimo Pasquini, CEO of the Lucart Group.

Lucart has been informed that its Platinum rating has been reconfirmed for 2023 by the independent agency EcoVadis with a score of 84/100. The prestigious rating examines several aspects of sustainability, grouped into four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

The assessments are based on international sustainability standards, like the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, the ISO 260004 standard, the CERES roadmap and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

The EcoVadis Platinum rating is the highest level for business social responsibility. Only 1% of the over 100,000 companies analysed by EcoVadis worldwide operating in over 200 different sectors can boast such a result.

Lucart’s score for 2023 expresses excellence in several areas. Particularly noteworthy are the environment (100/100), labour practices and human rights (90/100) and sustainable procurement (80/100).

“In the 70th anniversary year of Lucart’s foundation, having received this award makes us even more proud because it demonstrates – once again – our unfailing commitment to promoting a sustainable way of making paper”, said Massimo Pasquini, CEO of the Lucart Group. “I want to thank everyone at Lucart, who is working tirelessly to contribute, each for their part, to achieve our common goal of creating value for all our stakeholders.”

The results of Lucart’s 18th Sustainability Report highlight the important new achievements reached in 2022: a turnover of over € 717 million, up 31% compared to the previous year; the reduction of specific emissions, with -11% of CO2, -19.6% of NOX, -5.9% of H2O compared to 2021; the target of 56% of recycled fibrous raw materials used for paper manufacturing and 81.2% of waste sent for recovery; the development of long-term partnerships with organisations, companies and charities, like the one with Save the Children, active since 2020, in which Lucart is committed to supporting three important social projects and has recently promoted corporate volunteering actions involving staff of the Group.
