As a consequence of the war, more than 18 million people, according to Red Cross estimates, need help in Ukraine or outside Ukraine. Since the beginning of the conflict, Lecta has joined the worldwide wave of solidarity in support of the Ukrainian people and has recently collaborated with the Red Cross through a financial donation to support its crucial humanitarian work in caring for victims and refugees.
“Corporate social responsibility and solidarity are integral to our organization. Our employees have spontaneously engaged in local actions in support of Ukraine. Campaigns to collect food, medical supplies, hygiene products and clothing, as well as donations, are just a few examples of the initiatives carried out.”
Red Cross teams and thousands of volunteers are working intensively in the most affected cities in the north, south and east of the country to provide basic supplies and services such as food, water, clothing, blankets, tents, hygiene items, medical supplies and other essential goods to all those affected. Their assistance is also crucial for shelter, accommodation and psychological and social support in the massive displacement of the civilian population to other countries.
Lecta has also guaranteed from the outset and in agreement with its suppliers, that it will no longer purchase wood and forest products from Russia, Belarus and the occupied territories of Ukraine for the manufacture of its products or their use in third-party products marketed by any of the Group’s companies.
