AF&PA supports legislation to disapprove EPA’s RMP rule under Congressional Review Act

Congressman Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) introduced the resolution to accomplish that goal in the United States House of Representatives.

“We welcome the use of the Congressional Review Act to disapprove the EPA’s final Risk Management Plan – a costly and burdensome midnight rule that does not deliver additional safety beyond the previous regulation. In fact, some provisions of the new rule may actually impede efforts to create a safer workplace and community by diverting resources away from proven approaches. Our manufacturers continue to make improvements and work to provide a safe workplace for employees and the communities that surround our facilities”.

“We urge the House to quickly move to disapprove the final RMP under the Congressional Review Act and hope the Senate follows suit.”
