19 new apprentices at Mitsubishi HiTec Paper

On August 1, 2019, nineteen new apprentices were warmly welcomed to Mitsubishi HiTec Paper. Five paper technologists, three industrial mechanics, three electronics technicians, one cutting machine operator, four machine and plant operators, one IT specialist and two industrial clerks began their careers at the mills in Bielefeld and Flensburg.

For the new apprentices (thirteen in Bielefeld and six in Flensburg) it is now time to undergo intensive training involving many interesting experiences. Whether at the large state-of-the-art production machines, in the administration or in the IT of the German manufacturer of coated special papers for the global market, experienced instructors guide and assist with help and advice.

To ensure it is not all too much like hard work, the apprentices also enjoy medieval markets, where the traditional art of paper-making is brought to life for interested visitors.

“For us, training young people has been a priority for a long time,” says Marcel Bornemann, HR Administrator at the Flensburg plant. “We also look outside the box; for example, coming soon, we have a one day seminar on “addiction prevention”, because career and health go hand in hand.”
