A great cut: three successful DIENES cutting seminars in autumn 2014

As market leader for industrial slitting solutions, DIENES can look back on a successful year not only with regard to sales and service, but the range of training courses offered by the company is also becoming increasingly popular with customers and interested parties. In the autumn of 2014 alone, three technical seminars with a total of 115 participants were conducted in Hamburg, Korntal near Stuttgart and Lohmar near Cologne.

The focus of each 3-hour seminar was on the two slitting methods shear cut and crush cut. In addition to a clear and practical teaching of the fundamentals, the differences, advantages and different areas of application of the two slitting methods were explained in detail to the participants during the first teaching block. In addition to some refreshments during the break, participants were able to also make some valuable contacts. The second teaching block focused completely on perfect knife positioning, which is of central importance to the slitting quality and optimum material usage. Based on practical examples, participants could get an idea of the consequences of incorrectly adjusted knives and knife holders, and get valuable tips for troubleshooting. The seminar was rounded off by an overview of the DIENES solution portfolio in the area of shear and crush cutting. Participants got the chance to ask questions and exchange information at the end.

“For us, our seminars provide a great opportunity to further intensify contact to the companies. We are pleased about the high uptake and relevance of our topics with the companies”, Sales Director Dietmar Fritz sums up. Due to the high demand, DIENES has already planned three further seminars in the spring 2015 on the same topic.
