Domtar’s Bill Koehn to Receive 2015 Peyton Shaner Award
The Association of Independent Printing Paper Merchants (AIPPM) announced that Bill Koehn, Vice President, Printing and Publishing Paper Sales for Domtar, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 Peyton Shaner Award. The presentation will be made at the 2015 AIPPM Fall Conference to be held in early October in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Peyton Shaner Award was established to commemorate the founder of the Association of Independent Printing Paper Merchants. The recipient is recognized as someone who has shared Shaner’s passion for our industry. Past recipients include Doug Adams and Bill Stemmerman of Appvion, Bill Frohlich of the NPTA Alliance, Jeff Kirchmer of National Envelope, Morris Dennis of Dennis Paper Co., Charlie Peth of Wausau Paper, and Alain Villemure of LECTA.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a BA degree in International Relations, Bill Koehn is a 35-year veteran of the paper industry. He began his career in sales with Consolidated Papers in 1980. He joined Weyerhaeuser in 1986 as Special Projects Manager, and later held responsibilities as Market Manager-Coated Groundwood, Regional Zone Manager-Midwest, and Vice President Sales. He was named Vice President of Printing and Publishing Papers in 2000, a title he retained when Weyerhaeuser merged with Domtar in 2007.
Koehn has been involved in several industry associations throughout his career, including the Book Manufacturers Institute and the Magazine Publishers Association. He has served as Chairman of the Paper Distribution Council along with serving several terms on the National Paper Trade Association’s Board of Directors. Koehn joined the American Forest & Pulp Association’s Printing and Writing Papers Committee in 2002 where he has served as the Chairman and also as a committee member. Currently, he is finishing his second term as Chairman of the Board of Two Sides North America, a global initiative to promote the sustainability of the Paper and Graphic Communications industries.
The 2015 AIPPM Fall Conference will be held September 30 – October 3 at the Hilton Nashville Downtown in Nashville, Tennessee. Please join the AIPPM in congratulating Bill Koehn for earning this worthy recognition that honors its founder.
