Amerplast to market a new innovative product in important tissue segment

Amerplast is to offer its customers a new innovative product, tissue bags, in the important hygiene tissue segment, following the May 2016 signing of a cooperation agreement with Gaviplas SL.

The new product forms a fast response to market trends that show a rapidly growing demand for more convenient tissue packaging.

Amerplast will partner with Gaviplas SL for the manufacture of tissue bags like Flatpack, Scanpack and Twister, achieving rapid market access with the help of Gaviplas’ new converting lines, equipped with the technology for the manufacture of this innovative packaging solution. Gaviplas in turn will capitalize on its new converting capacity while benefiting from Amerplast’s marketing reach in the important tissue segment. Manufacturing volumes will be in line with market growth.

“This new product is the latest step in developing Amerplast into a leading pan-European packaging company, with the help of key partnerships and new innovations that are in tune with consumer and market trends”, says Børge Kvamme, CEO Amerplast. “In Germany we see a rapidly growing demand for more convenient hygiene tissue packaging with handles, and we believe the trend will soon carry over to other important markets. The Gaviplas partnership provides us with instant access to both the required technology and capacity, so our customers can capitalize on this trend in a timely manner.”

About the cooperation agreement for the production process of the new tissue bags

Amerplast will work closely with Gaviplas in the production process of the new tissue bags. “We see Gaviplas as a core partner, enabling us to expand our product offering in the important tissue segment. We will work side-by-side and our related expertise and know-how will be seamlessly integrated into the manufacturing process of the new tissue bags, to secure the high quality that our customers expect from us”, Kvamme notes.

Together with technology supplier PerfoTec, Amerplast recently introduced AmerFresh, a new packaging system that enhances the shelf-life of fresh produce, thereby reducing waste and cost. “We strive to continuously expand our product portfolio in core segments, driving growth through innovation and leadership”, Kvamme concludes.
