American Forest & Paper Association Releases June 2015 Printing-Writing Statistics Report

The American Forest & Paper Association has released its June 2015 Printing-Writing Paper Report.
According to the report, total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 6 percent in June compared to June 2014, with inventory levels increasing 1 percent from May.
• Uncoated free sheet (UFS) paper shipments in June increased 3 percent compared to June 2014, the first year-over-year increase in the past 18 months. Imports of UFS increased 16 percent year-over-year in May.
• June coated free sheet (CFS) paper shipments decreased 7 percent compared to June 2014. Imports of CFS papers increased 6 percent in May, with exports down 18 percent.
• Uncoated mechanical (UM) paper shipments decreased 21 percent when compared with June 2014. Imports of UM papers were down 21 percent in May, the eleventh consecutive monthly decline.
• Coated mechanical (CM) shipments in June decreased 19 percent relative to June 2014. Imports of CM decreased 1 percent in May, while exports of CM were up 24 percent compared to May 2014, the fifth consecutive monthly increase.
