AF&PA Supports Manufacturing Day 2015

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) today issued the following statement support of Manufacturing Day 2015 today.

The annual Manufacturing Day event, co-produced by manufacturing industry leaders, provides an opportunity for communities across the country to learn the benefits of American manufacturing. Manufacturers are opening their doors to show the extensive role of manufacturing in society and the jobs they provide. AF&PA represents an industry that is among the top 10 manufacturing employers in 47 states, employing nearly 900,000 men and women across the country.

“The paper and wood products manufacturing industry represents 4 percent of U.S. manufacturing GDP, and uses highly innovative and sustainable business practices that position us for a bright future,” said AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman. “We support the efforts of Manufacturing Day to showcase the value of paper and wood products manufacturers who make products people depend on every day. These facilities are also an integral part of local communities, providing family-wage jobs and often are the mainstay of the local economy.”
