Taiga Group to acquire full ownership of Karelia Pulp

According to industry sources, the Russian Taiga Group has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Karelia Pulp, one of the country’s major pulp producers. The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Taiga’s position in the pulp, paper and packaging sectors.
Karelia Pulp operates the Kondopoga Pulp and Paper Mill, located in the Republic of Karelia, and is among Russia’s leading producers of pulp and packaging materials. The company has undergone a significant modernization process in recent years. In 2021, it reportedly invested around 50 billion rubles (approximately US$680 million) to upgrade the Kondopoga mill and shift its production focus from newsprint to packaging board.
Taiga LLC, based in Russia, is specialized in the production of high-quality softwood lumber and carries out extensive logging and wood processing operations. Through the acquisition of Karelia Pulp, Taiga Group aims to expand vertically within the forest products value chain and enhance its competitiveness in both domestic and export markets.
