Kemira launches cost-saving measures and change negotiations in Finland

Kemira announced the continuation of its profitability improvement programme, including the initiation of change negotiations in Finland as part of broader cost-saving measures across its global operations.

The planned actions are expected to deliver annual savings of approximately €15 million. As part of the programme, the company indicated that up to 150 roles could be affected globally, including a maximum of 30 positions in Finland.

The negotiations in Finland will cover all employees except those working in manufacturing operations. Kemira currently employs around 4,900 people worldwide, of whom approximately 800 are based in Finland.

In addition to potential workforce reductions, the measures may involve adjustments to employment terms and job roles. The company stated that it aims to minimise the overall impact through retirements and voluntary arrangements wherever possible.

Alongside these initiatives, Kemira continues to implement other efficiency and cost-saving actions that are not expected to affect employees.

Consultation processes in line with local regulations are also expected to be initiated in other relevant countries where the company operates.
