CHT Group publishes Sustainability Report 2024: 84% of sales generated with sustainable solutions

The CHT Group has released its Sustainability Report 2024, highlighting substantial progress in the ecological transformation of its business activities. With sales reaching EUR 619 million and sustainable chemical solutions accounting for 84% of total sales, the company has already surpassed its own targets set for 2025 during the 2024 financial year.
“Sustainability is and remains our overarching corporate goal, which is why we invest resources where they have the greatest impact – for our customers, for society, and for the environment. Sustainability is and remains the future of our company,” emphasized Dr. Lorenza Sartorelli, COO of the CHT Group.
Key progress achieved in 2024 includes:
- Climate protection: Confirmation of science-based targets (SBTi). Reduction goals: -42% (Scope 1+2) and -25% (Scope 3) by 2030; climate neutrality by 2045.
- Energy & production: Increased use of renewable energy sources and greater resource efficiency in manufacturing.
- Sustainable chemical solutions: Introduction of innovative products such as COOL DYE (textile dyeing for recyclable fibres) and Pigmentura (a binder-free pigment dyeing process).
- Supply chain: 100% of suppliers signed the CHT Code of Conduct; comprehensive sustainability assessments and risk analyses ensure compliance with standards.
- Social responsibility: 95% of employees worldwide now earn above a living wage; extended programs in occupational safety, training and diversity are in place.
The group once again achieved the EcoVadis Gold rating in 2024, positioning it among the leading companies in its industry for sustainability management.
Tradition of responsibility
Sustainability has long been embedded in CHT’s corporate culture. The company’s founder established climate neutrality as a guiding principle early on, and CHT has voluntarily published sustainability reports for more than a decade to transparently demonstrate its progress. In its latest report, the group has applied the stricter requirements of the new reporting standards for the first time, even before they become mandatory. This was based on a double materiality analysis, considering both the company’s impact on society and the environment as well as the financial risks and opportunities arising from these impacts.
CHT’s commitment also extends beyond its own operations. The company’s chemical solutions are designed to actively support customers in meeting their sustainability goals – whether through innovative, resource-efficient products or tailored applications that enable more sustainable processes. The objective is to provide customers with solutions that allow them to label their own products with a clear sustainability mark backed by CHT’s expertise.
Sustainability as a driver of the future
For CHT, sustainability is not simply an aspiration but a lived reality across the three pillars of people, planet, and performance. With its commitment to innovation and new industry standards, the group is positioning itself as a pioneer in the sustainable transformation of the chemical industry.
“For us, sustainability is not a trend, but an integral part of our strategy and business model. With smart chemistry, we are making a measurable contribution to climate protection and resource conservation – for our customers and for future generations,” stated Dr. Annegret Vester, Chief Sustainability Officer of the CHT Group.
