Valmet to deliver PM9 board making line to Anhui Linping in China

Valmet to deliver PM9 board making line to Anhui Linping in China
Anhui Linping’s existing PM8 board machine, previously supplied by Valmet. The new order concerns PM9.

Anhui Linping Circular Development selected Valmet to deliver a complete board making line, automation and lifecycle support for its mill in China. The high-speed PM9 will produce lightweight fluting and liner grades, broadening the customer’s portfolio while improving resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

The delivery builds on Valmet’s previous PM8 project at the same site in Xiao County. Technologies, lifecycle services and experience from that installation will support reliable production and the customer’s strategic targets. PM9 start-up is scheduled for 2028.

“This investment will strengthen our position in the market while meeting our targets for resource-efficient production. Having successfully collaborated with Valmet on our previous board machine project, we are confident that this full-scope delivery combined with strong project execution and lifecycle support will help us achieve our production and performance targets,” said Li Jianshe, Chairman of Anhui Linping.

“We are pleased to continue our successful cooperation with Anhui Linping Circular Development. This new investment reflects the trust we have built through our long-term partnership and our shared commitment to high production performance,” said Veli-Matti Miskala, Sales Manager, Packaging and Paper Business Area at Valmet.

Board machine and automation scope

The scope comprises a complete board machine from headbox to winder, designed for runnability and productivity in lightweight fluting and liner production. A layering gap headbox will support sheet formation and layer structure. A press with a centre roll and closed sheet transfer will provide continuous web support from the press section to the dryer.

Compact predryer geometry and engineered runnability systems will reduce the risk of web breaks and support stable operation at high speeds. A winder will support capacity targets and customer roll quality.

Lifecycle support includes spare parts, digital services and paper machine clothing. Automation will help secure production efficiency and support progressively autonomous operations.

The order was included in Valmet’s third-quarter 2026 order intake. Its value was not disclosed.

Founded in 2002, Anhui Linping Circular Development is based in Xiaoxian Circular Economy Industrial Park. It is a Chinese high-tech enterprise, a provincial enterprise technology centre and an engineering research centre, producing high-grade packaging materials.
