Valmet renews sizer roll cover portfolio with three products
Valmet has renewed its sizer roll cover portfolio for board and paper producers, adding three products designed to improve machine performance, extend running intervals and support consistent sizing and coating quality.
The Sizer Roll Cover CF family now includes the polyurethane CF-M and CF-EC covers. Their material technology combines high wear resistance with optimised surface characteristics, enabling longer regrinding intervals in demanding film and pond sizer applications. The CF family is intended for containerboard, packaging board and specialty paper production.
The new rubber Sizer Roll Cover SH-EC is engineered for long running intervals and uniform film transfer, including when hydrophobic sizing agents are used. Valmet identifies containerboard film sizing as a particularly suitable application.
“The covers’ wear resistance and surface characteristics have been thoroughly tested in both laboratory and mill conditions. For example, at a mill producing glassine paper, the roll change interval was increased up to threefold while coating quality improved using the new Valmet Sizer Roll Cover CF-M,” said Tatu Pitkänen, Global Technology Manager, Roll Covers and Maintenance at Valmet.
Lifecycle support for sizing and coating
Valmet combines its roll covers with maintenance, process optimisation and digital services, including Valmet iRoll for real-time profile measurement. The company says matching the covers to operating conditions can improve production efficiency, paper quality and costs over the equipment lifecycle.
