SAEL supplied the new stock preparation drive with liquid cooled inverters to SACI-PM3 paper mill

The first stock preparation machine equipped with liquid cooled inverters technology has been supplied to SACI-PM3. Three years later the successful installation of the sectional drive liquid cooled by SAEL – the first in Europe, with 46 motors and over 3Mw – and pushed by the great energy savings achieved, the general management of the Group decided to go for the same technology for the stock prep machine.

The dramatic space reduction of the electrical cabinets with the same installed power, and the high efficiency of the system, allowed to place the application into conventional non conditioned rooms, as the sectional drive machine before.

The supply involved the MCC equipped by SAEL inverters and the software automation based on 1500 S7 Siemens PLC. This job was made in partnership with our service point AISCON who fulfilled the SIL requirements, as well as the machine duty cycles prepared with the papermill management.

SAEL Inverter 400Kw “Water Cooled Series”.

3Mw power installed for this machine, focused on a pulper, tine, pumps, screen, trommel, etc.; can support for further applications. Actually, the papermill planned a strong investment policy for the next years, and we are ready to support them.

Thanks to the perfect organization driven by the papermill management, the machine startup was made within 5 working days. A great achievement.
