Palletizing systems.

IMA TMC, an Italian Company based in Bologna (Italy) and specialised in packaging machines for the tissue and nonwoven market, confirms the success of its palletizing islands with a new supply. Recently, the company sold two palletizing lines for an important leading Italian customer, active in the tissue market, with a strong presence all over Europe.

One of the key’s factors that had the Italian Customer chose IMA TMC for these two projects is the very compact lay out that IMA TMC offered, thanks of the NEST gripper head: it operates picking the product layers without any side pressure. The lines are capable to run in Display Ready Pallet (DRP) configuration at high speed, with four-rolls packs.

The first of the two lines was installed at the customer’s Italian facility, replacing the previous one which resulted insufficient for the present manufacturing needs: as the customer claimed, the lines were indeed obsolete and with limited format capacities and low performance. This new installation was a real challenge, due to the restrictive plant size and the complexity of the layout. No one in the market can offer a bottomgripping layer head in a such small operating space

IMA TMC expertise, due to over 20 years of activity in the tissue market, allowed the Company to complete this delicate task. The two lines sold are completed by the patented smart gripping head NEST: this technology innovates the traditional pliers, featuring unidirectional chains and lifting products from below. In addition to having all the peculiarities of a bottom-gripping plier, thanks to which the product is supported and not crushed, stressed, or deformed by contact, NEST has the advantage of having the same overall dimensions both in withdrawal and in storage with the concept “ZERO PRESSURE”. This makes it possible to have up to 50% less space than a parallel opening gripper and to be able to create multi-line and multiproduct palletizing solutions in smaller spaces.

NEST is fast, precise, and reliable even in harsh environmental conditions, for example in dusty or wet surroundings. All movements are servo-motorized to obtain maximum precision and speed and it is made entirely of aluminium and carbon to reduce weight without decreasing its strength.

With this supply, IMA TMC attests its growing presence in the end-of-line market for tissue products, corroborating the important financial and technological commitment as regards palletizing systems, which started in the latest years. Today, the company can indeed provide both turnkey complete lines and standalone palletizing lines, according to every customer’s need.
