Skeena pulp mill assets to be auctioned

Aucto.com will be hosting a two-day online auction on November 18 and 19 to liquidate the assets of a large pulp mill in Prince Rupert, B.C. — the Skeena pulp mill.

The Skeena Cellulose mill was a large pulp mill with a kraft pulping operation capable of producing more than 1,000 tons per day. The facility had updated its equipment including: the installation of a state-of-the-art ClO2 plant and O2 delignification towers, and a major overhaul of the Kamyr continuous digesters. The site location has a transportation infrastructure supporting port, railway and truck access.
NRI Industrial, the sales division of NRI Global, will be hosting the auction of the assets on Aucto.com. NRI is a Canadian-based asset management firm that acquires and provides turn-key solutions for distressed assets. They have been contracted by the city of Prince Rupert to manage the orderly removal of assets and decommissioning of a substantial portion of the pulp mill to be able to redevelop the land on Watson Island for future economic use.
Aucto’s live webcast of the Skeena pulp mill auction, will feature the following equipment:
– chip and material handling
– Kamyr continuous digesters, 1050 adt/day (bleached), recent upgrade in 2001
– Ingersoll-Rand Hi-Q knotters
– two-stage Ingersoll-Rand filter drum washing
– Centrisorter screening
– bleach plant washers
– new O2 delignification system
– new chlorine dioxide generating plant, 55 tpd, installed in 2001
– large offering of pumps, control valves and instrumentation
– full electrical system.
Clients who wish to preview equipment in this auction should contact NRI Industrial to arrange a viewing. Viewing dates are Nov. 13 to 17. The auction takes place live, online on Aucto.com, Nov. 18 and 19.
