Romanian cardboard packaging maker increases sales

Romanian cardboard packaging maker Ecopack reported improved financial results in the first half of this year.
In 2014, the company posted sales of RON 24.5 million ($6.2 million), and in the first six months of 2015, the company reported an increase of 9% compared with the same period last year. With the improved results for the January-June 2015 period, Ecopack exceeded its results from the pre-crisis year 2008, and reported record revenues, according to senior company representatives.
“We exceeded the level from 2008. In terms of cardboard output, last year was truly a record one in our history. The main reason is the rise in demand,” Remus Craciun, the chief executive of Ecopack, told local business daily Ziarul Financiar.
The company has been active in the Romanian market since 1921, and owns a production facility in Ghimbav, Romania.
