Oradoc acquires Mtk and consolidates its leadership in the paper industry

Many years have passed since Oradoc was born in the province of Novara, in 1989, aiming at becoming a reference point for doctoring solutions in the paper industry. Since then, Oradoc has been able to acquire a prominent position not only on the national but also on the international market, specializing in the design, supply and post-installation assistance of doctoring systems installed in tissue, paper and board production lines, but also in other industrial sectors.

In 2015 the company was acquired by WIVA Network, a transition that has given even greater force to the business, a new turning point towards increasingly technological solutions, integrating the doctoring offer with production parameters monitoring services aimed at maximizing production plants’ performances. Since 2018, both the headquarter and the production plant moved to Lucca, in the heart of the so-called “Tuscan tissue, paper and board valley”, keeping a branch office in Gozzano, Novara.

The end of 2020 marks a new important stage in the history and in the life of the company: Oradoc acquires MTK, a Lucca-based company working in the paper sector as well, thus expanding its expertise to further consolidate its leadership in this industrial field. “Both companies joined forces to offer an even wider range of products and services dedicated to the paper industry, to integrate their know-how and provide a broader vision to improve papermaking at all levels. The products supplied by Oradoc as well as those supplied by MTK, indeed, are intended to maximize the efficiency of any production plant” – underlines Mr. Simone Berchiolli.

Be it doctoring systems or dewatering elements, tissue, paper or board, in fact, Oradoc and MTK solutions constitute some of the fundamental steps in the paper making process, which play a key role in taking full advantage of the energy savings achievable in the subsequent processing phases. Concerning Oradoc, for example, the water collection systems installed together with specific doctoring back (OraTwin) ensure excellent cleaning and water drainage, thus guaranteeing high performance and extending the useful life of the rolls on which they are installed.

From forming to pressing section, the drainage systems proposed by MTK have an important impact on the efficiency of the whole line: the greater the drainage we are able to obtain with these systems, the less energy will be required to dry paper in the drying section. The efficiency of these solutions create a virtuous circle of benefits: it translates into measurable energy savings, higher production speed, lower incidence of unscheduled stops. MTK products are also used in the presses section of the machine and their correct operation is important as well for felts life and conditioning.
