Belarus to commission new bleached kraft pulp plant

The government of Belarus has officially announced that it will commission a new plant for the production of bleached kraft pulp in Svetlogorsk in July 2015, according to state press-service.

Implementation of the project is carried out by the Belarus government in cooperation with the Chinese Samsø corporation. Construction is underway with the use of loans, provided by Chinese banks.

The cost of the  project is estimated at US$860 million and it is planned that future pulp production of the new plant will allow to fully meet the needs of pulp and paper mills in Belarus in raw materials.
