Valmet to supply coated board line to unnamed Asian producer

Valmet has received an order to supply a complete coated board making line, automation and lifecycle services to an unnamed customer in Asia. The machine is scheduled to start up in 2028 and will produce premium-quality coated board grades.
The delivery covers stock preparation and the board machine from the headboxes through the reel and winders. It also includes automation, digital services, paper machine clothing and spare parts packages to support the line’s operation over its lifecycle.
The order has been included in Valmet’s orders received for the third quarter of 2026. The company has not disclosed the value of the contract, the customer’s identity or the mill location.
Markus Veikkola, Sales Director, China and Asia Pacific, Packaging and Paper Machines at Valmet, said customers increasingly seek a combination of product quality, production efficiency and long-term performance. He described the integration of machinery, automation and services as a way to support reliable production and lifecycle performance.
The project adds to Valmet’s deliveries of complete board production lines in Asia. Its scope spans the preparation of fibre stock, board formation and finishing, alongside the systems and services needed to operate the new line.
