Runtech Systems improves runnability at Alkim Kagit San. ve Tic. A.S. PM2
Runtech Systems has completed a runnability improvement project at the Alkim Kagit paper mill in Kemalpaşa, Izmir, Türkiye. The delivery for PM2 includes RunPro EasyOne high-release web stabilizers installed in the first dryer group of the paper machine.
The stabilizers are equipped with high-release nozzles supplied by RunPro Turbo Compressors, creating effective vacuum levels at the sheet release point of the top dryers. The solution is designed to improve web stability and overall machine runnability during operation.
Alkim Kagit produces photocopy and offset paper at its Kemalpaşa site. An EP Turbo Blower has been operating on PM1 since 2016, while PM2 has been designed to produce the same grades. With the start-up of the second machine, the mill’s total annual production capacity is expected to reach approximately 215,000 tonnes.
The mill also installed a RunEco Vacuum System with an EP Turbo Blower in 2025. Both paper machines are currently covered by a RunCare service agreement, which supports optimal operation and long-term reliability of the vacuum systems.

The RunPro EasyOne stabilizers operate without mechanical contact with the paper machine fabrics, allowing easily adjustable vacuum levels while reducing maintenance requirements. The system helps keep the sheet in close contact with the fabric and enables operators to reduce draw between the press and dryer sections without compromising machine runnability.

Runtech has also replaced traditional lubricated compressors with high-efficiency turbo compressors as its standard technology. The RunPro Turbo Compressor delivers compressed air at 0.3–0.6 bar and features an integrated variable speed drive that enables precise process control by directly regulating the high-speed motor.
