Metsä Fibre retains EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating

Metsä Fibre has once again received the highest Platinum rating from EcoVadis, maintaining its position among the top one percent of companies assessed globally within the pulp, paper and board industry. The company has consistently achieved Platinum status since 2019.
The latest assessment recognised the company’s performance across all major sustainability categories, including environmental responsibility, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement practices.
“At Metsä Fibre, sustainability is visible in our daily work across the entire value chain – in safety, efficient use of energy and raw materials, responsible sourcing practices, and transparent and ethical ways of working. Receiving EcoVadis’ highest recognition for the eighth consecutive year demonstrates our long-term commitment and our continuous drive to improve our operations,” said Ismo Nousiainen, CEO of Metsä Fibre.
The company also stated that the assessment process provides important feedback to support the further development of sustainability initiatives together with employees, customers, suppliers and other partners.
EcoVadis evaluates companies worldwide on environmental, social and governance performance and is widely used as a benchmark platform for supplier sustainability assessments across global supply chains. The EcoVadis methodology examines four key areas: environmental performance, labour and human rights, business ethics and sustainable procurement.
Metsä Fibre noted that the continued recognition reflects the company’s long-term focus on responsible operations, resource efficiency and transparent business practices throughout its production and supply chain activities.
