Enfasi implemented Rockwell Automation PlantPAx solution to enhance productivity and products quality of the Convertipap mexican papermaking plant

Enfasi, an Italian company operating internationally and providing innovative and integrated automation solutions, engages Rockwell Automation for a major revamping of process automation (DCS), of quality control (QCS) and DRIVES of a continuous papermaking machine, realizing the first “single window” architecture based on PlantPAx solution.

The continuous machine and the rewinder (roller) cover the entire papermaking cycle, from pulp preparation to calendering and rolling. Enfasi selected PlantPAx, Rockwell Automation innovative platform that perfectly integrated with ECS Plus quality control system from Enfasi, and is equipped with the new IR sensors (infrared) for basis weight, moisture and the overall machine control.

“We were looking for a single, reliable, flexible and complete application platform for process automation that could perfectly match our ECS Plus quality control system in the meantime. We would have provided our customers with a solution to maximize productivity, product quality and reliability as well. Thanks to Rockwell Automation cooperation and support we provided our end customer (Convertipap) with a “single window” system plus different advantages such as a single control, visualization, development and diagnostics platform for the whole machine (PlantPAx), including new drives management (PowerFlex). ” stated Antonello Lisi, Gabriele Campesan, Marco Nieri and Paolo Morselli, Enfasi founders.

“Papermaking process requires a highly specific technological knowledge, not only for quality control solutions (CSF), but also for the complete plant management. Therefore we are particularly pleased that Enfasi chose our solutions recognizing the value of the integrated platform PlantPAx. ” said Maurizio Cappelletti Solution Architect IA Process and Massimo Ciapetti District Manager at Rockwell Automation.
